ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — Ashtabula County Prosecutor’s office has opted to not charge three Chardon 18-year-olds in county juvenile court involving an after-prom drinking party last weekend in Lenox Township, assistant prosecutor Tammy Wetherholt said Thursday.
It was determined the trio, Jeffrey Buehner of 11193 Wilson Mills Road, Andrew Znidarsic, of 11435 Woodiebrook Dr., and Anthony Teresi of 12170 Burlington Glen Drive, were apparently not drinking, she said. Deputies raided the farmhouse about 4 a.m. last Sunday.
Twenty four teenagers, most from Chardon area, were found inside the house drinking, partying and playing loud music, deputies reported. Beer, alcohol and marijuana paraphenalia was found inside during a search.
Sheriff’s deputies originally cited Buehner, Znidarsic and Teresi for contributing to the delinquency of minors after they questioned everybody. Deputies called in parents and other adults to drive the teen partygoers home from Lenox Township.
Deputies issued summons to 21 of the teens to appear in Eastern County Court and county juvenile court on charges including underage consumption and curfew violations, all considered misdemeanors. Sheriff’s investigators turned over Information to County Prosecutor Thomas Sartini’s office to file charges.
Wetherholt said Thursday she informed the parents of Znidarsic, Teresi, and Buehner no charges would be filed against them.
Nine other teens are cited to appear May 22 in Eastern County Court before Judge Robert Wynn. Charged with underage consumption of alcohol are Christen Braat, 18, of 101935 Wilson Mills Road; Charles Rohr, 18, of 857 Lawnville Road; Tara Foster, 18, of 11219 Aquilla Road; Matthew Weber,18, of 9555 Venus Dr.; Alex Petroff, 19, of 11390 Woodiebrook Road; Daniel Plickert, 18, of 10565 N. Northwoods Circle; Brittany Lanese, 18, of 11632 Edgewood Road; Ashley Kiss, 18, of 11215 Beechnut Lane North; and Michael Drobnick, 18, of 9555 Tanager Dr. Twelve other teenagers, 16 and 17, are expected to be cited to the juvenile court on curfew violations.
