Sit back and pay your city utility bills from home By SHELLEY TERRY - Staff Writer - sterry@starbeacon.com Star Beacon ASHTABULA — The city now offers its residents the ability to view their sewer and trash accounts online, and soon, residents will have the ability to pay their bills automatically from the comfort of their home computers.
The new technology is available thanks to the city’s purchase of new utility billing software, City Auditor Michael Zullo said. Now, with the click of a mouse, residents can access the site from the city of Ashtabula’s home page, following these directions: Go to the Web site at www.cityofashtabula.com. Click on “sewer/trash billing” at the top of Home page. Click on “Click here” to review your sewer/trash account. Click on review your sewer trash account. Read the disclaimer and click on “I accept, continue.” On the utility connection page, you must register your account. Landlords, DO NOT register each account individually. Contact the city’s billing department at (440) 992-7155 or (440) 992-7106 for an ID and reference. This will allow you to access all of your accounts at once. To register you sewer/trash account Click “register” Enter your account number located at the top of your bill. Enter your street address/service address; located below account number on your bill. IMPORTANT: YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER AND SERVICE ADDRESS MUST BE ENTERED EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON YOUR BILL Click the drop down arrow to select a recovery question, such as your mother’s maiden name.
