ASHTABULA TOWNSHIP — A birthday party celebration at an all-nude nightclub turned ugly early Friday when a patron was struck in the face with a beer bottle.
Police were called at 2:30 a.m. to the emergency room at Ashtabula County Medical Center after a 26-year-old Ashtabula man came in with a severe laceration to the face, police said.
According to police, the victim said he was laughing and having a good time at Cinderella’s, 3908 Tannery Hill Road, when a commotion started inside the bar. The victim told police he spilled a little bit of beer at the counter, but joked about it with a friend. Then, James M.D. Robinson, also known as Marrell Holley, hit him with the glass beer bottle and said, “You’re out of here.”
The victim received numerous stitches on his face at the emergency room, detective Sgt. Joseph Cellitti said.
Police officers went to Cinderella’s at 2:53 a.m. Friday to look for Robinson and interview witnesses. Robinson was not there, Cellitti said.
Friday afternoon, police caught up with Robinson, who resides at 535 W. 41st St., and charged him with felonious assault, Cellitti said.
“We arrested him at the corner of West 41st Street and Station Avenue,” Cellitti said. “He’s being held in the city jail.”
