ANDOVER — Greg Wolfe got a divine surprise when he was chopping up firewood last week.
A gasoline log splitter cut through a piece of wood, leaving behind an image of Jesus’ face. Wolfe said the machine was making all kinds of noises as it was working its way through the wood. It got to the point where it was going to get bogged down when it finally split the log.
“You would never dream something like this is going to happen,” he said.
Wolfe was cutting the wood with his friend and his friend’s son. When the image appeared, his friend told him it looked like Jesus. Wolfe said he sort of blew it off because he was busy and didn’t really have a chance to look at it closely. He told him to put it in the truck. It wasn’t until later that he was able to see what his friend was talking about, he said.
Wolfe said one of his customers at Andover Appliance told him the log was a sign that he wasn’t spending his Sundays in the right place.
Wolfe said the piece of wood has not been altered in any way and he’s trying to spark interest within the public to come and take a look at it. The piece of wood is on display at Andover Appliance.
