ASHTABULA - - A 42-year-old Ashtabula man trying to be a Ninja-type warrior complete with a sword landed in county jail Thursday night after reportedly threatening passing cars on Route 20 west.
Deputies John Wilt and Chris Lazanis responded to The Car Store at 2933 Prospect West in Ashtabula Township after a passing motorist made the 911 call to the sheriff's department at 10 p.m. Deputies arrested Theron A. Simmons of 5223 Samuel Ave., Ashtabula after finding him in a highly intoxicated condition.
Simmons was waving a large sword and yelling at passing cars. He dropped the sword and a club as deputies arrived.
Deputies took Simmons to county jail and charged him with aggravated disorderly conduct. He is cited to appear in Ashtabula Municipal Court, according to reports.
