Ashtabula County officials approve permanent budget figures for 2008

JEFFERSON — The total of all funds for Ashtabula County government operations this year is $120.7 million.
County commissioners on Tuesday approved the entire permanent appropriations for 2008, including the $22.58 million general fund.
At the time of the appropriations’ approval, commissioners indicated that changes in revenue sources through this year will be reviewed constantly to make cutbacks, as necessary.
A breakdown, by department or office, for the general fund appropriations is listed below, including for the sheriff’s department, which was appropriated about $5.63 million. Other amounts, rounded to the nearest dollar, are: maintenance, $994,570; county prosecutor, $909,460; Common Pleas Court, $901,866; Veterans Services Commission, $881,707; Youth Detention Center, $800,000; public defenders office, $796,335; Board of Elections, $684,930; Board of County Commissioners, $650,933; purchasing department, $626,500; group liability, $475,500; auditor, $341,020; clerk of courts, $332,589; agriculture, $329,986; $257,810; coroner’s office, $311,049; building regulations, $291,830; juvenile probation department, $286,989; commissioners’ information technology data services, treasurer, $265,559; Probate Court, $237,872; Western County Court, $222,572; recorder, $219,545; Juvenile Court, $210,645; Eastern County Court, $192,479; court mediator, $145,886; Planning Department, $130,422; Ashtabula Municipal Court, $123,871; county engineers, $121,197; risk management, $112,732; Conneaut Municipal Court, $85,310; county law library, $57,786; other health, $53,775; Court of Appeals, $50,000; adult probation department, $39,775; taxes, $32,000; jurycommission, $27,356; capital improvements, $25,000; contingencies, $25,000; Veterans Services, other, $22,700; Health-TB, $7,232; Humane Society, $3,130; vital statistics, $1,375; and Board of Revisions, $500.
