PIERPONT TOWNSHIP — The 21-year-old driver who wrecked a 30-year old car on New Year’s Day fell asleep at the wheel, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports.
Heather Kuhn, 21, of Pierpont Township, was driving a 1978 Dodge Aspen on Route 7 at mile marker 16 at 5 p.m. Thursday when she reportedly fell asleep, crashing the vintage car through a guardrail, through a fence and into a utility pole off the left side of the road, OHP reports.
Kuhn was taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, OHP reports.
Family members report she is doing well, an OHP dispatcher reported.
