RAA will restore economy

The Rebuild America Act was introduced in the U.S. Senate by Sen. Tom Harkins (D-IA) in March of this year, and in the House on May 10 by Rep. DeLauro (D-CT), and Braley (D-Ia.).
This RAA bill would make a decisive contribution toward restoring our weak and declining economy by putting millions of peole to work on our nation’s infrastructure, manufacturing, restore the level of education our young people need, and maintaining an acceptable level of public service and retirement security. Like similar legislation proposed in the past, the RAA bill will be blocked by a stonewall of opposition by those who would peddle the false doctrine that “we the people” should oppose anything our government wants to do “for the people.”
They preach that private enterprise (Wall Street and the transnational corporations) will provide prosperity and that intervention “by the people” will provide prosperity and that intervention “by the people” government is the problem.
We see what this philosophy has done to our state of Ohio with Gov. Kasich’s war on public services and the loss of thousands of public service jobs.
Restoring our economy and our country’s living standards once the envy of the world , will only be accomplished by passing and implementing measures like the RAA.
Private industry will ramp up production and add jobs if they have a market for their products, otherwise they will continue to sit on the piles of money stored in the country’s bank vaults.
Massive infusing of billions of dollars by the federal government must take place if the private sector wlll be stimulated into once more inventing, manufacturing and job creation.
We also know that passage of measures like the RAA will not happen unless the political roadblocks in Congress are removed. This places us in a position wherein we must make that change in composition of Congress through the November election, at the same time re-electing President Obama, who will support and sign into law the RAA and other supporting bills.
Ashtabula and Ohio, it’s up to each and every one of us. Let’s make our Democracy work for “we the people.”
