JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — Charles T. “Terry” Cathcart, age 73, of Clay St., Jefferson Township, died Thursday morning, June 12, 2014, at his residence following extended episodes with cancer.
He was born May 25, 1941, in Troy, Ohio, the son of Charles F. and Bessie (Shane) Cathcart and had lived in the Jefferson area since 1980, coming from Cleveland. Terry was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was married to Andrea J. Stefancin on August 30, 1974 at the Old Stone Church in Cleveland.
Terry was a truck driver for Valley Building Center in Geneva. He was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie Lodge #3881, American Legion Post #103, and was an avid reader of Western novels and enjoyed gambling.
Survivors include his wife, Andrea; five children, Scott N. (Sandy) Cathcart of Olmsted Falls, Jeremiah S. (Jenna Stevens) Cathcart of Jefferson, Linda M. Kelly of Fairview Park, Terrence W. Cathcart of Harpersfield Township and James M. Cathcart of Lakewood; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Tanner, Carly, Aubrie, Tyler and Teagan Cathcart and Chloe DeJesus.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. John Sheridan, of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, officiating. American Legion Post #103 will offer Military Honors.
Calling Hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, envelopes will also be at the funeral home.
