KINGSVILLE — Mrs. Edith M. Trizna, age 89, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, Feb. 21, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, Kingsville, Ohio.
Born Sept. 21, 1923, in Conneaut, she was the daughter of Luigi and Caroline (Ruccolo) Campanelli.
A Conneaut High School graduate, Mrs. Trizna had worked for a time at the former Goldette and the Astatic Corp.
She was a member of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish, and the T.O.P.S. Club.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and canning. She was a good cook and was known for her fried chicken, spaghetti and pizza.
Survivors include her husband, Archie Trizna Sr., whom she married May 28, 1948; two sons, Archie A. Trizna Jr. and Louis D. “Lou” (Peggy) Trizna, all of Conneaut; six grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Alisa, Jillian, Zoli and Priscilla; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mary Ellen Heinonen; her brother, Dominic Campanelli; and four sisters, Mary Tavone, Antoinette Raisian, Sandy Gravino and Virginia Bagnall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26th, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with Fr. Philip Miller as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25th, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
