GENEVA — Martha M. Smith, age 83, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Sunday afternoon, Dec. 16, 2012, at the Rae Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Geneva, Ohio, where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.

Born July 7, 1929, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Irwin and Allie (Hillyer) Williams.

A graduate of the Andrews School for Girls in Willoughby, Ohio, where she studied fashion design, she had been employed at Inn-Conneaut Health Center and South Ridge Christian Academy.

She was a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church. She loved her family and spending time with them, and enjoyed crafting and bowling.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Charlton, and friend, Sheryl Flanagan, of Madison, Ohio; two sons, John (Joann) Smith of Conneaut, Ohio, and Stephen (Randi) Smith of Wadsworth, Ohio; grandchildren, Thomas Charlton, Missy Flanagan, Mindy Opsincs, Christina and Corey Smith, and Justin Palmer; a great-granddaughter, Brianna Opsincs; two sisters, Barbara (Richard) Burge of Texas and Margaret Harold of San Diego, Calif.; and three brothers, David Williams and Donald (Marjorie) Williams of Conneaut, Ohio, and Robert Williams of Boston, Mass.; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles G. Smith in 1967; and a sister, Lucille Banfield in 2012.

Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 20th, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Inurnment will be in East Conneaut Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, Dec. 19th, from 6 to 8 p.m.
