WHITEWATER, W.Va. — Shirley Jean Brooker, age 74, of Whitewater, W.Va., died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, W.Va.
Born Oct. 6, 1938, in Zela, she was a daughter of the late Ted and Everette Nutter Pierson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Eugene “Dude” Fleming; second husband, George Eugene “Booger” Bailes; a brother, William Cecil “Pedo” Pierson; and a sister, Karen Mae Pierson Stover.
She was a member of the Pierson Chapel United Methodist Church in Zela, was a former employee of various restaurants in the Summersville area, was a former employee of True Temper of Ashtabula, Ohio, and was retired from BB&T.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly and her husband, Jeffery Collins of Cattlett, Va.; a son, Gary E. and wife, Cindy Bailes of Zela; four grandchildren, Jeffery Lee Collins II and wife, Elizabeth, Julie Karlin Collins, William Wesley “Wes” Bailes, and Cassie Nichole Bailes Jordan and husband, Scott; six brothers, Kenneth “K.P.”, Dan, Don, Greg, Gerald and Ben Pierson; and three sisters, Sue Ann Holstein, Marion Bryant and Sarah “Teanie” Pierson.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Today, Jan. 12th, in the Pierson Chapel United Methodist Church in Zela, with Pastors Brad Blanchard and K.P. Pierson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sebert Cemetery in Zela.
