ASHTABULA — Anthony Jacob Randazzo, age 86, of Ashtabula, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Born Feb. 11, 1926, in New Orleans, La., he was the son of Alphonse and Alma (Stephens) Randazzo. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II, he moved to Ashtabula during the 1950s.
Mr. Randazzo worked for True Temper until they closed and retired from Oberon Atlantic of Painesville.
He enjoyed spending time with the many pets that he trained, attending church and prayer meetings, and watching and quoting Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry cartoons. He loved life and would say “you only live but once and when you’re dead you’re gone… let the good times roll”
He is survived by his children, Bobbie Hayes of New Orleans and Karin Randazzo, Sharon (Gordon Dorn) Marsh, Jacob Randazzo, Mary Randazzo and Mariena Barnhart, all of Ashtabula; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Shirley (Johnny) Barber of Portland, Ore., Joyce Madere of New Orleans, Vivian (Alton) Wilder of Slidell, La., JoAnn (Edward) Finn of Kenner, La. and Lenora (Dwane) Wiedmann of Denver, Colo..
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Anthony Jacob Randazzo Jr.; two grandsons, Alan and Timothy; and two brothers, Alphonse (Randy) Randazzo Jr. and Frank Randazzo.
Private funeral services will be held on Friday at the convenience of the family.
