GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Nathan “Nate” Bishop Williams Jr. passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, while surrounded by family, at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1942, in Geneva, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1960, as a crypto-linguist. He was stationed at Ruislip Air Force Base, England, and he was a Vietnam Veteran. While in England, he met and married his wife, Susan Kent. They came back to the States in 1964 and settled in Montana in 1974.
He acquired Kenck's Welding and Machine in 1976. Throughout his life, he enjoyed several hobbies including racing horses, racing cars, hunting, horse back riding, political debate, and playing cards. His passion, though, was working in the shop. He was eager to help those in need, and would tackle any job or task, large or small.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; sisters, Amy Christy-Wolfe, Deann (Dave) Gleason and Judy Dalin; brother, John Williams; sons, Tony (Beth), Mark, Bob (Wendy) and Randy (Coya); and his grandchildren, Kent, Kendall, Nathan, Morgan, Brogan (Blake) Smith, Cougan, Keeley, Cameron and Hayden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Nathan Williams Sr., sisters, Maryanne Saari and Patty Gramoy; brothers-in-law, Ron Dalin and Richard Christy; and a grandson, Anthony John "A.J." Williams II.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10th, at the GORDER JENSEN FUNERAL HOME in Choteau, Mont., with burial in the Augusta Cemetery following the Services. A reception will follow at 3 p.m. at the Augusta Community Center.
