ASHTABULA — Lyn Keith Armstrong, age 66, of Ashtabula, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones at Cleveland Clinic on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.
Lyn was born in Ashtabula and graduated from Harbor High School in 1965. He married Rebecca (Newman) Armstrong on June 6, 1981 in Andover, Ohio.
Early in Lyn’s life, he worked for the Ashtabula Bow Socket, and later Conrail in Ashtabula, before he retired from the Ashtabula Coal Dock in 2007.
In his retirement years, Lyn spent much of his time traveling between Ohio and Florida, spending time with family and friends no matter where he was. Lyn was a hard working, dedicated husband and father who sacrificed much of his personal time to provide for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; and their two children, Chad Armstrong (Amy Giannell) of Lakewood, and Jaymee (Armstrong) Vest (Jonathan Vest) of Kingsville.
Lyn was preceded in death by his parents, W. Irving Armstrong and Evelyn J. (Tilley) Armstrong; and brothers Noel A. Armstrong and Dean Armstrong.
At Lyn’s request, no calling hours or services will be observed. A Celebration of Life will be held at the family residence on Sat. Oct. 5th, from 2 to 4 p.m.
