MEADVILLE, Pa. — Joan Ellyn Brininger, age 77, of Jamestown, Pa., passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Meadville Medical Center.

Born August 19, 1936, in Conneaut, Ohio, she was the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Mason) Post. Joan graduated from Ashtabula High School, Class of 1954, and married the love of her life, Blair Brininger Jr. on Sept. 3, 1955.

Joan was a former member of the Harris Memorial Presbyterian Church, before their closing, while there she served with the ladies circle. Joan was a Girl Scout leader, and was also the Sexton for the Lenox Township Cemeteries for many years.

She and her husband, Blair, raised and showed English Bulldogs for several years. Joan also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and WWF Wrestling, and reading mystery novels.

Mrs. Brininger is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Blair; her children, Blair Brininger III of Houston, Texas, Christine Perkins of Ashtabula, Trudy (John) E. Zeman of Ashtabula and Stephen F. Brininger of Jefferson; daughter-in-law, Jacquelin Mousseau; grandchildren, David (Erika) and Michael Brininger, Larry, Robert and Jennifer Leonard, Jason and Jeffrey Zeman and Stephen (Karli) Brininger and Angella (Patrick) Bisigni; four great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Ida (John) Gbur.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dale Post in Korea while serving in the United States Air Force and Jerry Post; granddaughter, Stephanie Brininger; and great-grandson, Russell Brininger.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, with the Rev. Bruce Wyand, of the First Covenant Church, officiating.

Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 3rd.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the family.
