JEFFERSON — Darla J. Taylor, age 68, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 29, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold Hendershot and Barbara Balazek.
Darla worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Heather Hill Nursing Home, and later worked as a driver transporting railroad workers. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, going to casinos, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly (John) Bobango of Chesterland, Ohio, Christopher Taylor of Andover and Michael (Kathleen) Taylor of Jefferson; sister, Sandra (Frank) Bohus of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Rachel and Zachary Bobango, Samantha, Christina and Emma Taylor, and Courtney, Michael and Nicholas Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Darla was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Hendershot and Barbara Furnier; her step-father, Doc Furnier; her brother, Harold Hendershot; and a granddaughter in infancy.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28th, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 89 E. Satin St., Jefferson, with Pastor Fred Grimm officiating.
