SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — Angie A. Roberts, age 88, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, 2013, at Saybrook Landing.
She was born April 3, 1925, in St. Paul, Va., the daughter of Ira and Rebecca (Hayden) Cook and has resided in Ashtabula since 1961, when she came along with her husband and founded the Revival Center Church now the Pentecostal Church of God.
She enjoyed flowers, traveling, cooking and taking care of her family.
Survivors include two sons, Mitchell (Linda) Roberts of Watumpka, Ala., and the Rev. Kenneth (Debbie) Roberts of Ashtabula; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Roberts of Montgomery, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Tammy, Joe, Kenneth, Tabitha, Hannah, Jonathan, Rachel and Joshua; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and four sisters, Ethel Hall of Columbus, Ohio, Fern Stowers of Lynco, W.Va., Alvia Robinson of Pickens, S.C., and Erma Daliey of Chesapeake, Ohio.
Her parents; her husband, the Rev. Henry Roberts on Nov. 20, 2013; a son, Ira Joseph Roberts; her siblings, Audrey Hopson, Ardella Jackson, Mary Morgan, Hazel Morgan and Phyliss Cook; and her brother, Granville Cook who was killed during World War II, preceded her in death.
The family would like to thank and express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Saybrook Landing and to Tridia Hospice for the care and attention they have given to both the Rev. and Mrs. Roberts.
Funeral Service will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8th, at the Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, with the Rev. Thomas McFadden, of the Family Worship Center in Painesville, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of Service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Pentecostal Church of God Building Fund at the above address or Tridia Hospice, 1933 Route 45, Austinburg, Ohio 44010. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
