JEFFERSON — Lorene Hudson, age 75, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at Jefferson Health Care.
Born April 13, 1938, in Wilksville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ruth (Rowsey) and Ernest Chittum. She married James A. Hudson Sr. in Holly Springs, Miss., on March 2, 1958.
Lorene previously was the Assistant Activities Director at Lakeland Nursing Home.
She was a 1957 graduate of Virginia Beach High School and was a member of the United Church in Geneva. She loved bowling at Sonny Lanes in Geneva and swimming at the East End YMCA in Madison.
She spent some time as a volunteer for Hospice of the Western Reserve. Lorene also loved to make people laugh and after she attended professional clown school, she performed in many venues including the Geneva Grape Jamboree.
She is survived by her son, James (Laura) A. Hudson Jr. of Ashtabula, Ohio; daughter, Terri Lynn (Andy) Parma of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Andrea, Andrew, Christopher and Makenna; great-granddaughters, Arieana and Makenzie; sisters, Betty Brewer of Tennessee and Mildred Southerland of Florida; brother, Roy Chittum of Tennessee; and best friend, Betty Austin of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Warren Chittum.
Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio 44041.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27th, at the Funeral Home. Final resting place will be at Alexander Harper Memorial Cemetery in Unionville.
