BEACHWOOD — Willie Jones Jr., age 56, formerly of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014, at Park East Center, Beachwood, Ohio.
Born August 13, 1957, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of Willie and Lucille (Moore) Jones and had been an Ashtabula county resident most of his life. A 1976 graduate of Harbor High School, he was always a sports fan and played basketball for the Mariners.
He worked as a press operator for Molded Fiberglass and enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar.
His survivors include three children, Trenice Jones, Felecia “Cupsie” Jones and Stephen Jones, all of Columbus; two grandchildren; six brothers, Nathaniel (Thelma) Jones and Mitchell (Nancy) Jones, both of Ashtabula, Ira Young of Las Vegas, Nev., Mark (Helen) Jones of Painesville and Joe (Mildred) and Vernon Jones, both of St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Mary Jean Mathers and Annette Jones, both of Ashtabula, Georgetta Wells of Maple Heights and Carolyn Dyer of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Shoemaker, Ursel Jones and Alice Bradley; and his parents.
A Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22nd, at Miracle Temple COGIC, 923 East 16th St., Ashtabula. His brother the Rev. Mitchell Jones, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Church.
