ASHTABULA — LeRoy Layton Lipps, age 71, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born on August 16, 1941, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Glenna Doris (Fetters) and Layton Howard Lipps. Mr. Lipps was a 1959 graduate of Williamsfield High School. He was a lifelong resident of the Wayne and Williamsfield area.
Mr. Lipps worked for the former Andover Industries, Rockwell Brake and Rome Feed, all while running his own dairy farm.
On August 30, 1959, he married Janet L. Smith, she died on April 8, 1996. Mr. Lipps married Sabra E. (Wood) DeAngelo on June 18, 1999.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover, Triandra Masonic Lodge F & AM No. 780 and the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club. He loved farming, his tractors, playing the piano and his faithful dog “Katie”.
Mr. Lipps was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Janet L. Lipps; and an infant daughter, Aimee Vanessa Lipps.
Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, Sabra E. Lipps of Ashtabula; his daughter, Lisa L. Fleming of Williamsfield; a son, Mark A. (Nicole) Lipps of Louisville, Ohio; a step-son, Harold A. (Debra) DeAngelo of Ashtabula; a sister, Nola (Larry) Vlock of Jefferson; two brothers, L. Robert (Christine) Lipps of Williamsfield and Lesley (Beverly) Lipps of Ashtabula; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren with two additional on the way.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4th, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
