CONNEAUT — Louise M. Poprocky, age 86, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 19, 2013, at The Villa at the Lake.
She was born March 10, 1926, in Conneaut, the daughter of Ben and Rose (Kraus) Sedmak.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, Louise was employed for 40 years in the inspection department at G. E. Base Plant and had also worked for two years at G. E. Wire in Cleveland.
She was a member of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, and enjoyed cake decorating, baking, knitting, crocheting and traveling.
Survivors include her sister, Pauline Monda of Ashtabula, Ohio; brother, Alex (Eileen) Sedmak of Conneaut; sister-in-law, Emily Sedmak of Conneaut; and a number of nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Poprocky in 1989; her son, Richard; two sisters, Marjorie Sedmak and Ann Davis; and four brothers, Ben, Joe, Louis and Frank Sedmak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22nd, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 480 State St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Philip Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
Calling Hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
