WILLOUGHBY — Jesse James Dalrymple, age 85, of Ocala, Fla. and formerly of Ashtabula, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Lake West Hospital.

He was born July 15, 1927, in Ashtabula, the son of John and Beatrice (Jordan) Dalrymple and had been an Ocala, Fla. resident for the past 38 years, moving from Ashtabula. A 1948 graduate of Edgewood High School, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On Jan. 14, 1966, he married the love of his life, Dolores Morgan.

Prior to his retirement in 1993, he worked as a supervisor for the City of Ocala Electric Company for 15 years.

A life member of the Ashtabula Elks Lodge #208, he was well known for running the annual clam bake, even returning in the summers from Florida to do so for many years.

Jesse loved children and enjoyed playing Santa Claus at Silver Springs and for the City of Ocala for over 30 years. He also enjoyed woodworking and furniture building.

His survivors include four daughters, Sandra L. Dalrymple and Jayne Chebra, both of Painesville, Michele Dannaway of Newark, Del., and Trudie Jennings of Kingston Springs, Tenn.; one son, Terry Kaiser of Scottsdale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Heather, Justin, Haley, Ryan, Brennan, Laura and Jessica; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Braden, Atlas and Titus.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Virginia (Morgan) Dalrymple on Dec. 31, 2002; his parents; sisters, Lorraine Coe, June Zak, Margie Collucci and Ruthie Dalrymple; and brothers, John and James Dalrymple.

A Service will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, March 30th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Shane Nanney, Pastor of East Side Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Friday, March 29th, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of Service. BPO Elks #208 will conduct the Elks Memorial Service at 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the Funeral Home.
