SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — Marian A. Landon, age 89, of Saybrook Township, passed away peacefully Saturday May 18, 2013, in the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born on August 9, 1923, in Conneautville, Pa., the daughter of Frank Chester and Clara (Terry) Walton.
Marian had worked in the housekeeping department of the Ashtabula County Home for 20 years. She had been a kind, caring, and loving mother to over 150 foster children for 34 years with her husband, Lincoln. So many children were able to have the love and care of parents because of Marian and Lincoln Landon. She married the love of her life, Lincoln, on Oct. 18, 1941.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, sewing, singing and playing the organ, and most important of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and foster care children.
Marian is survived by her son, Scott Landon of Ashtabula; daughter, Shawna Biegacki of Ashtabula; daughter, Megan Landon of Chapel Hill, N.C.; son, Dan (Diann) Landon of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren, Todd, Amy, Raymond, Peyton, Lovis , Kayden and Anthony; great-grandchildren, River, Dakota and Landon; brother, Jerry Walton of Ashtabula; sister, Marge Wagner of Toledo; special niece, Debbie Bilicic of Ashtabula; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Lincoln; and sisters, Marie Rhodes and Myrna Bilicic.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 22nd, at POTTI LAKESIDE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, with Dr. Harry Slough, of Seventh Day Adventist Church of Madison, officiating. Burial will follow in Saybrook Cemetery.
