ROME — Floyd C. Duhl, age 84, of Dodgeville Road, Rome, Ohio, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his home.

He was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Jackson, Ohio, the son of Oscar Moore and Ethel Marie (Childers) Duhl and has lived in Rome since 1963.

A Veteran, he served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed with the United Auto Workers #1045 in Cleveland, working for General Motors until his retirement in 1986.

He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed gardening, mowing his lawn and watching Old Westerns.

Surviving him are his wife, Katherine (Strange) Duhl, whom he married July 20, 1957; two sons, William O. (Lisa) Duhl of Rome and Robert S. Duhl of Austinburg; and his best friend and caregiver, Jolene Kampf of Rome.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a brother.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 15th, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, with Alisa Nierzejewski, Certified Celebrant, officiating. Burial will be in Rome Center, Rome, Ohio.

Calling Hours will be TODAY, Tuesday, May 14th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
