CLEVELAND — Gwen L. Locher, age 83, of Saybrook Township, Ohio, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Born Feb. 27, 1930, in Summerville, Pa., she was the daughter of Clarence and Lottie (Radaker) Miller and has been a lifetime area resident. She was a 1948 graduate of Ashtabula High School and married John Locher on August 6, 1949, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ashtabula.
She and her husband enjoyed camping with the family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, doing jig saw puzzles and most of all spending time with her family.
Surviving her are six children, Lorraine A. (Darl) Fetters of Jefferson, Bernice C. (James) Collise of Jefferson, Connie J. (Kenneth) Woodring of Plymouth Township, Darlene L. (Greg Lachey) Osborne of Jefferson, Dale (Jennifer) Locher of Conneaut and Jeffery Locher of Plymouth Township; 10 grandchildren, Cindy, Carrie, Stephanie, Denyse, Kelly, Laura, Michael, Matthew, Melissa and Jeffrey; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Carlson of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John in 2005; and by a brother, Richard L. Miller.
A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 21st, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Long, of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling Hour will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at the Funeral Home.
