Florence C. Langton, age 90, of W. 48th St., Ashtabula, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Geneva Village Retirement Center in Geneva, Ohio.
She was born July 11, 1922, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Paqualone and Thomasina Monda and had been a life time area resident.
She had been employed by Ashtabula Area City School District until her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish; The Ashtabula Post #943 of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Swinging Seniors Singers Band and Chorus. She enjoyed riding the city busses and going to the mall.
Surviving her is her son, James (Kathy) Langton of Madison; two daughters, Betty Kovacs of Ashtabula and Jo Ann Moser of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Flynn of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Lee Deitz in 2003; two sisters, Sue Whitney and Antoinette Reed-Billajama; and four brothers, Anthony, Carmen, Albert and Joseph Monda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23rd, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Joseph Worship Center, 3312 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Father Ernesto Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling Hour will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
