Michael L. Betteys, age 61, of Mentor, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Lake Health-West.
Michael was born Oct. 6, 1951, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Floyd A. and Christine M. (Pierce) Betteys. He graduated from Conneaut High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a motion picture machine operator, working for several indoor and outdoor theaters. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines, wood working, video and still photography, the beaches of Lake Erie and especially his family and grandchildren.
Mr. Betteys is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christina (Hinkle) Betteys of Mentor; daughters, Nicole Ness and Michelle Betteys, both of Painesville; grandchildren, Cheyenne Ness and Avery and Eli Betteys; siblings, Susan Nickels, Floyd A. Betteys Jr. and Pamela (Lonnie) Stump; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Nickels.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16th, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Route. 20, North Kingsville, Ohio, with Pastor Joyce Shellhammer, of First Congregational UCC, officiating.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of Services, Tuesday, at the cemetery.
