AUSTINBURG — Dorothy A. Klasen died on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Alvin and Edith (Cottrell) Rowan. She was a graduate of Harvey High School in Painesville, Ohio.
Dorothy married Kenneth Klasen in Painesville, Ohio in 1947. In their early years of marriage they resided in Painesville and South Madison, Ohio. They spent over fifty-five years living in Geneva, Ohio.
A Kent State University, Ashtabula Campus graduate in 1980 at the age of fifty-one, she went on to work as an R.N. at Lake East Hospital in the Newborn Nursery at Painesville, Ohio until she retired.
Dorothy is survived by her four children, David Klasen of Geneva, Marlane (Jerry) Burgett of Austinburg, Timothy Klasen of Ashtabula and Joanne (Ken) Cunningham of Jefferson; seven grandchildren, Shannon Baker, Clint Klasen, Jacob Klasen, Keegan Klasen, Andrew Klasen, Emily Klasen, Jerry (Darrah) Burgett and Toby Burgett; 14 great-grandchildren, Savanah, Cody, Clinton, and Kaeleb Klasen, Allison Senita, Ava and Abagail Mitchum, and Robbie, Ashley, Jesse, Skye, Case, Jerry K. and Rylee Burgett; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth in 2002; her brothers, Alvin, Keith, Daniel and Bruce Rowan; and sisters, Mary Carsey and Isabel Pizzuto.
At the decedent’s request, there will be no calling hours or services and private interment.
