PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP — Gilbert Seymour, age 84, of Plymouth-Gageville Road, Plymouth Township, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 21, 1928, in Painesville, Ohio, the son of Dr. R. H. and Mabel (Terrill) Seymour and had lived in Plymouth Township most of his life.
He was a graduate of Painesville Harvey High School and was a long time farmer in Plymouth. He was a Plymouth Township Trustee for over 20 years and also was a Zoning Inspector for many years for Plymouth Township. He attended Plymouth United Methodist Church and was a member of the Oiseau Club.
He enjoyed going to Canada with his family and also fishing while there. He also enjoyed the stock market, raising pigs and in later years working on church projects.
Surviving him are his wife, Beverly (Brown) Seymour, whom he married June 9, 1951; a son, Gregory (Patricia) Seymour of Plymouth Township; a daughter, Robin (Robert C.) Hicks of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Aaron, Rebecca, Cara, Evan and Whitney; one great-grandson, Gavin; and a special family friend, Ronald E. Clutter of Plymouth Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Seymour; and a sister, Dorothy Shula.
Funeral Service will be 3 p.m., Saturday, March 2nd, at Plymouth United Methodist Church, 970 Plymouth Road, Plymouth Township. Burial will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
Calling Hours will be from 1 p.m. until time of Service, Saturday, at the Church.
