MENTOR — Funeral Mass for Edward W. Rowlands will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 20th, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Fr. Tom Johns will officiate the Mass.
Mr. Rowlands, age 77, of Mentor, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born May 9, 1936, in Cleveland, he had lived in Ashtabula before moving to Mentor 13 years ago.
He was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor, where he served as the coordinator of the Parish Festival and was a St. John Vianney CYO Basketball coach. He was a also a U.S. Army Veteran. In his leisure time, he loved crossword puzzles, but enjoyed being with his grandkids the most.
He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Marilyn J. (nee Dworczyk) Rowlands; loving father of Cindy (Tom) Lentz; and cherished grandfather of David, Kimberly and Brian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary (nee Dubics) Rowlands; and siblings, Helen Kurpyle and Neil Gilde.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at McMAHON-COYNE-VITANTONIO FUNERAL HOME, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be private.
