CONNEAUT — Everett “Moe” J. Bartone, age 92, of Conneaut, died early Sunday morning, May 5, 2013, at the David Simpson Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Euclid, Ohio.

Moe was born May 6, 1920, in Sant’Angelo in Grotte, Campobasso, Italy, now known as Santa Maria, the son of Antonio and Louise (Vendetti) Bartone. He came to the United States at the age of 7 with his parents and was a 1939 graduate of Conneaut High School.

Moe worked for a time at the former Nickel Plate railroad, the Conneaut Can Company and also sailed for a short time. He later worked for many years at the General Electric Conneaut Base Plant as a Foreman and retired after 30 years of service.

He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and also served on the Conneaut Library Board. Moe enjoyed golfing and bowling. He played in many leagues over the years, both at the golf course and bowling alley. He was able to travel back to Italy with his daughter, Esther, to visit the place where he was born and tour other cities and sites of Italy.

For the past five years, Moe lived at the Kremer Home in Conneaut where he always had a warm and friendly smile, that all who knew Moe will remember.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Evelyn Newbold Bartone in 1994.

Moe is survived by his daughter, Esther Bartone and Mike Janson of North Canton, Ohio.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., TODAY, May 7th, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Philip Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.

Calling Hours will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m., TODAY, May 7th, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio.

Memorial contributions can be made in Moe’s memory to the Kremer Home, 520 Main St., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
