ASHTABULA — James C. “JimmyJack” Kennison, age 56, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at Saybrook Landing, after a year long battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 9, 1957, in Geneva, to Earl and Penny (Penhollow) Kennison. Jimmy graduated from Geneva High School in 1975.
He worked at GE in Ravenna until he retired in 2012. JimmyJack enjoyed all sports, was a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and a proud Member of the CMRO Region 13 (Concerned Motorcycle Riders of Ohio).
Jimmy loved spending time with his three children, Nicole Kennison of Mentor and Cory and Kerri Kennison, both of Geneva and his dog, “Tripper.”
He is survived by his children; his mother, Penny of Geneva; brother, Pastor Rick (Debbie) Kennison of Norwalk; sister, Vickie Kennison-Kujanpaa of Geneva; nephews, Jeremy Kennison of Dallas, Texas, Jesse Kennison of Norwalk and Tristan Kujanpaa of Austinburg; niece, Mikki (Jason) Ehrenberg of Norwalk; great-nephews, Andrew and Brandon Ehrenberg and Jackson Kennison and great-nieces, Cara Ehrenberg and Sienna Kennison, all of Norwalk.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Kennison in 2007.
Calling Hours will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, July 14th, at WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Harry Pishcura, of New Life Assembly of God Church, officiating.
