ASHTABULA — Roy Frasure, age 72, of Saybrook, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 2, 1941, in McDowell, Ky., the son of Earl and Edith (Howell) Frasure and had been an area resident for the past 58 years. On Nov. 23, 1960, he married the love of his life, Bettie Jean Osborne, and together they have shared over 53 wonderful years.
Prior to his retirement in 2000, he worked as a cell feeder at the RMI Sodium Plant for 22 years.
A member of the Conneaut Church of Christ, he enjoyed working at his church and helping with anything that was needed. He loved hunting, vegetable gardening, watching his girls and grandsons play ball, and listening to his son sing and play guitar. His family was the most important thing in the world to him and he treasured every minute spent with them. He was an amazing man and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. A great friend to many, his distinct sense of humor was expressed up until the very end. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten by all that knew him.
His survivors include his beloved wife, Bettie Jean Frasure; three children, Rory (Tabatha) Frasure, Robin Frasure, and Kelly (Rodney) Cartner; three grandsons, Rory Dean (Kassie) Frasure Jr., Caleb Mitchell Frasure, and Jacob Roy Frasure; one great-grandson, Aiden Frasure; four sisters, Holly Patton, Betty (Dave) Hungerford, Bonnie (Bill) Haight, and Freda Frasure; five brothers, Audie (Ann), Eugene (Judy), Roger (Vicki), Earl Jr. (Delia), and Vern (Bonnie) Frasure; one sister-in-law, Margaret Frasure; and many very special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Ottis and Dane; one sister, Earleen Maple; and his parents.
A Service will be held 12 Noon, Tuesday, June 17th, at Conneaut Church of Christ, 448 W. Main Road, Conneaut. Pastor Tim Kraus will officiate. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 16th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula and on Tuesday, June 17th, from 11 a.m. until the time of Service at 12 Noon, at the Church.
