CONNEAUT — Rosemary Armeni, age 95, of Conneaut, died early Friday, May 31, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Rosemary was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of James and Mary Copple Rose.
Rosemary worked at the former Goldette Garment factory and at the Crown Jeweler’s Jewelry Store until it closed. She also was active at St. Frances Cabrini church functions. She worked in the kitchen for church bingo for over 10 years. She loved to cook for her family and the Saturday dinner gatherings. Rosemary enjoyed baking, making Afghans, quilting, crafts, puzzles and crocheting.
Rosemary raised her sisters and brothers following the death of her mother at a very young age. She liked to crochet afghan’s and give them as gifts. She was also a great cook and baker. She liked crafts, flowers, sewing, word games, her “little garden” and taking care of her home. She also enjoyed having her family over every Saturday for a meal and to keep in touch with them all.
She is survived by one son, Peter Armeni of Conneaut; a sister, Betty Sheldon of Lake City, Pa.; and also sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dominic in 1968; brothers, Frank, Albert, Tony, James, Charles and Vincent Rose; and a sister, Martha Pearson.
Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 2nd, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, June 3rd, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, with Fr. Philip Miller presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Frances Building Fund, Conneaut Food Pantry or Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
