CONNEAUT — Jon A. Serena, age 60, of Conneaut, Ohio, died unexpectedly Friday evening, July 12, 2013, of a probable coronary.
Born Dec. 7, 1952, in Conneaut, he was the son of Luella Jean (Rood) Serena of Kingsville, Ohio, and the late Samuel Serena.
An area resident for most of his life, Jon was employed at one time with Society Bank in Cleveland, and most recently was a self-employed property appraiser.
He enjoyed woodworking and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. He also enjoyed training and showing dogs. His dogs “Tango and Pepper” were his constant companions.
Survivors include his mother, Jean Serena of Kingsville, Ohio; his sister, Sandra J. (Glen) Dalrymple of Conneaut; his brother, Donald M. Serena of Erie, Pa.; his aunt, Nancy Fredericks of Conneaut; and three nieces, three nephews and more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Calling Hours will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., Noon, Wednesday, July 17th, at THE MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio.
A Private Family Funeral will be officiated by Pastor Joyce Shellhammer, of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
