ORWELL — Sara Irene Humphries, age 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Blossom Hill Heath Care Center.

Sara, born August 21, 1918, in Mesopotamia, Ohio, was the daughter of Eli and Emma (Yoder) Mullet. She was married to Richard Thomas Humphries for 42 years.

Sara worked at Johnson Rubber for 33 years and was a member of the American Legions Woman’s Auxiliary. She is lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her wonderful meals, especially her cakes and cookies, as well as her sense of humor. She was an avid card player and loved Country Music Night with her family and friends.

Sara is survived by her two sons, Tom (Peggy) of Alexandria, Va. and Harry (Julie) of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Andrew, Ben, Heather, Christopher and Adam; her brother, Ray Mullet of Burton, Ohio; and many, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dog, “Princess Annabella (Annie)” and her cat, “Oscar.”

Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” Humphries; three sisters, Barbara, Mahala and Ida; and a brother, Robert.

Visitation Hours for family and friends will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 30th, at PAINE-GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 140 E. Main St., Orwell, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1st, at Maple View Mennonite Church, 14890 Burton-Windsor Road, Burton, Ohio, officiated by her brother, Ray Mullet.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Hospice of Care Corp and to Sara’s nieces, Mary Dunn, Esther Miller and Emma Owens for their love, care and support in Sara’s final days.
