Vinnette I. Grennan, age 96, of Urbana, Ohio, formerly of Chardon and Andover, Ohio, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Vancrest of Urbana.
Born Nov. 27, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Albert L. and Louise (Guhl) French.
Vinnette was a graduate of Chesterland High School; retiree from LFE, Chesterland; a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Andover; and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Chardon Chapter.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Her hobbies included taking bus trips, shopping, and playing cards and board games with her family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn (Axel) Wright; two sons, Edward Grennan and Alexander “Butch” (Helen) Grennan; eight grandchildren, Vinnette, Virgil, Alex Jr., Tom, Bonnie, Jeannetta, Paulette and Deborah; 18 great-grandchildren, Valerie, Jeffery, Jaycee, Jaxon, Shane, Kaitlin, Ben, Reanna, Amber, Sue, Kenny, Samantha, Shawna, Scott, Josif, Alexis, Paulette and Allen; four great-great-grandchildren, Opal, Caden, Mia and Colton; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte French.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilfred and Arthur French; sister, Merle French; and a grandson, Timothy Grennan.
Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17th, at Our Lady of Victory Church, S. Main St., Andover, Ohio.
