ASHTABULA — Frances Kay Welker, age 64, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Saybrook Landing.
She was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Elizabethton, Tenn., the daughter of the late Ira and Merle (Guy) Humphrey. She moved to Ashtabula in 1952 and had been an area resident ever since.
Frances was a former member of Edgewood Church of the Nazarene. She worked 26 years for Carington Park Nursing Home, formerly Ashtabula Care Center, as a dietary breakfast cook. She became best friends with her boss, Barb Green, and her family. They remained friends until Barb passed away 6 months ago. She also loved kids and was a huge fan of country music.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Welker; sisters, Wanda Jane (Howard) Heath and Penny Lee Keener; and her twin brother, Robert Ray (Trudy) Humphrey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Merle (Guy) Humphrey; and her best friend, Barb Green.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, June 29th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be from 11 a.m. until the time of Service at 1 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
