ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Former Conneaut, Ohio resident, John M. Rebera Sr. (John Kamppi), of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, in Florida.
John attended Conneaut High School and served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Korea. He was employed at The Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company for 21 years before moving to St. Petersburg in 1987 where he was self-employed.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Judy Rebera of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his children, Jeff Rebera of Kingsford, Mich. and Marlo Rebera of Ashtabula, Ohio; his daughter-in-law, Lynn Rebera of Conneaut, Ohio; four grandchildren, Steven Hill II, Tyler (Ariel) Hill, Jade Sponaugle, all of Ashtabula, Ohio and Anthony Rebera of Kingsford, Mich.; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Mary Ann (Richard) Luce and Bruce Kamppi, both of Conneaut, Ohio, Ann Marie Julio of Florida and Carol (Henry) Eshleman of Kingsville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Rebera; his step-father, Raymond Kamppi; his mother, Mary Ann (Rossetti) Kamppi; and his son, John M. Rebera Jr.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date and will be announced by MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has charge of local arrangements.
