ASHTABULA — Nicholas Campagne, age 95, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Sunday morning, June 16, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 8, 1917, in Ashtabula, he was the son of James and Laura (DeChurch) Campagna. Nick graduated from Ashtabula High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. On Sept. 20, 1941, he married the former Nettie May in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ashtabula.
Mr. Campagne was retired from Rockwell Plastics.
He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church; he attended daily Mass, was an altar server for many years and worked the weekly Bingo for the church and Saint Johns School. Nick was also a member of the American Legion Post 103 in Ashtabula.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia (Bruce) McClimans of Ashtabula; grandson, Patrick McClimans of Ashtabula; sisters-in-law, Veronica Campagne and Donna Scoville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nettie Campagne; daughter, Sandra Campagna; sisters, Lena Maynard, Mary Cimorell, Genevieve Spensiero and an infant sister, Margaret; and brothers, Charles and Rudy Campagne.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated TODAY, Wednesday, June 19th, at 12 p.m., Noon, in Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with the Rev. Philip Rogers, the Rev. Michael Balash and the Rev. Ernesto Rodriguez presiding. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard team from Post 103.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., TODAY, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.
