SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP — Donald C. Hogle, age 74, of Sheffield Township, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2014.
Born March 23, 1939, in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of Carl and Josephine (Brewster) Hogle.
After graduating high school, Mr. Hogle joined the U.S. Army, and was chief engineer for AMSEA. He sailed on the Great Lakes and the Deep Sea for 45 years. The last ship he sailed was the USNS Bob Hope.
He enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, football and baseball, and enjoyed to work. He and his wife enjoyed traveling the winter months together to Mount Dora.
Survivors include his wife, Donna (Dunham) Hogle, whom he married August 10, 1968; his daughter, Caroline (Dwight) Nelson of Sheffield Township; his sons, Phillip (Cherie) Hogle of Charleston, S.C., Kevin (Debbie) Hogle of Monroe Township and Richard (Cindy) Hogle of Sheffield Township; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Brianna, Joshua, Christina, Trevor, Haley, Benjaman and Shannon; his step-grandchildren, Bobby, Robie, Beth, Chris, Shawn and Stephanie; and his brothers, the Rev. Dr. Roger (Mottrie) Hogle of Conneaut, Robert (Leta) Hogle of Wooster, Ohio, and Ronald (Colletta) Hogle of Monroe Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15th, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Dons brother, the Rev. Dr. Roger Hogle officiating. Burial will follow in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14th.
