ASHTABULA — Arthur Lee Campbell, age 67, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Carington Park, where he had been a resident.
The son of Raymond J. and Elizabeth J. (Deak) Campbell, he was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, on May 30, 1946, and had remained a lifelong area resident.
Art worked at AshCraft Industries performing maintenance duties. He enjoyed his job and enjoyed the friends he made along the way.
A man of many interests and hobbies, he enjoyed BINGO, going to the horse races, playing cards with his family and friends, slot machines, cars and motorcycles. He loved any type of music and played the tambourine in his sister’s band for a number of years.
Art thought that the best place in the world would be Disneyland. He never got tired of dreaming of the day when he would go to the Magic Kingdom. In 2011, Art, Ginny, Charles, Tammy, William and Julie went on the long anticipated trip to Disneyland; it was the highlight of his life.
Art will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful and loving son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his brothers, Steve (Judy) Campbell of Kenton, Ohio, and Bradley Campbell of Ashtabula; his brother-in-law, Charles Racey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Raymond and Richard Campbell; and his sister, Virginia (Ginny) Racey.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m., Noon, on Saturday, June 8th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.
Calling Hour will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of Service at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
