KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Doris A. Lampela, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2013. We praise God for giving her to us for so many years.
Doris was born on April 14, 1927, in Leoti, Kan. She grew up in Canon City, Colo., moved to South Glens Falls, N.Y., after World War II and married James E. Gray. She survived him after 32 years of marriage. Two years later, she met and married Arthur Lampela, moved to Ashtabula, Ohio, and eventually relocated to Good Samaritan Village, Kissimmee, Fla. They just celebrated 32 years of marriage.
From an early age, Doris loved church work. She was active in church ministries at all levels, led many Bible studies, and became a speaker for Christian Women's Ministries. She retired from Crawford and Company as a Supervisor of Claims.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; daughter, Sandra and son-in-law, Robert, Loychik; step-son, Alan and his wife, Amy, Lampela; sister, Wanda Haverly; grandchildren, Robert, Neil, Alana, Andrea and Alexis; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21st, at the Good Samaritan Village Church, 1550 Aldergate Drive, Kissimmee, Fla. 34746. A luncheon will follow in the Friendship Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Good Samaritan Village Church, or to the church of your choice in memory of Doris A. Lampela.
