GILMER, Texas — Funeral Services for Richard Charles Case, age 84, of the Midway Community near Gilmer will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at WELCH FUNERAL HOME, Longview, Texas, with Pastor Ronnie Shipman officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., TODAY, Tuesday evening, Oct. 2nd, at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Case passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at his home.
Born July 14, 1928, in Conneaut, Ohio, he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Case worked as a conductor and brakeman for Conrail.
On Sept. 1, 1951, he married Doris Eletha Butts and they moved to Texas in 1987, from Ohio. He was a member of the Spring Hill Assembly of God Church and enjoyed woodworking and clock building.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Doris of Gilmer; children and spouses, Carolyn and Thomas Morey of Gilmer, Gregory and Elan Case of Macon, Ga., David and Lori Case of Longview, Joyce and Paul Rose of Garland and Diana Sims of Garland; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Tommy and Sandy Morey, Theresa and Randy Driggers, Tim and April Morey, Wendy Case, Adam Sims, Megan Case, Amber Case, Cameron and Laura Rose, Devon Rose; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandsons.
