Susan Jo Green

JEFFERSON — Susan Jo Green, age 67, died Sunday evening, Dec. 8, 2013, at her residence with her family all by her side.

She was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert B. and Dorothy L. (Inman) Swedenborg. She was a graduate of Edgewood High School and resided in Ashtabula County her entire life.

She worked as a window clerk for the United States Postal Service for twenty-five years, before her retirement in 2002.

She was a volunteer for the Manna Food Pantry, and also worked for five years at Happy Hearts before starting at the post office. She enjoyed photography, reading, gardening and collecting Weller Pottery. In recent years, she became active in classic cars and loved the cruise-ins with their special group of friends.’

Vacationing in Florida became a most loved activity during retirement as she created wonderful memories with new Florida friends. She also liked to participate in water activities but her greatest joy was spending time and doing activities with her grandchildren, especially the famous Easter egg hunts, and attending grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved raising her beloved Schnauzers.

She is survived by her loving husband, Herbert L. Green of Jefferson; children, Michelle D. Cleveland of Jefferson, Michael P. (Leslee) Green of Mineral Ridge and Kathryn S. (Albert) Riesterer of Lewis Center, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Connor and Cooper Cleveland, Aleesa, Andrew and Ashlee Green, and McKenna, Sarah and Aubrey Riesterer; and two brothers, Robert L. (Karin) Swedenborg and Thomas M. (Sharon) Swedenborg.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, with the Rev. Dan Bilkert, of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. No visitation will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
