ASHTABULA — Eleanora L. Shaw, age 98, died early Monday morning, Feb. 25, 2013, at the Country Club Retirement Center where she had been a resident the past 10 years.
Born Sept. 29, 1914, in Ashtabula, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles R. and Carrie A. (Schubert) Lawrence and has lived in Ashtabula all of her life. She was a 1933 graduate of Harbor High School. Mrs. Shaw married Lloyd F. Shaw on Sept. 29, 1934, in Ashtabula.
Mrs. Shaw worked many years in the cafeteria at the Ashtabula County Medical Center and also did doctors office cleaning.
She was a member of East Side Presbyterian Church, the TOPS Club in North Kingsville and enjoyed playing bingo, going to car races and the Cleveland Indians.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie-Sue A. (Gary) Wight Bradbury of Jefferson; two grandsons, Robert (Alexis) Wight and Jake Wight; a great-granddaughter, Marilyn Rose Wight; and five nieces and two nephews.
Her parents, two brothers, Edward R. and Richard “Pete” Lawrence, and a sister, Henrietta S. Graham, all preceded her in death.
Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2nd, at the Jefferson Home of the FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, with the Rev. David Lawrence, nephew to Mrs. Shaw, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Edgewood Cemetery.
