SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — Damian David Zullo, age 71, and Janet L. Zullo, age 72, both died unexpectedly at their residence on Winterhaven Court in Saybrook Township.

Damian was born July 14, 1942, in Ashtabula, the son of Damian D. and Ethel (Cimini) Zullo. Janet was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Ashtabula the daughter of Lynn and Lois (Johnson) Holten, both have been Ashtabula area residents all of their lives. They were married in September of 1998 and spent many happy years together, enjoying family, even though they did not have any children, they treated generations of cousins as a “special” aunt and uncle to them, spoiling them at every opportunity.

Damian was a 1961 graduate of Ashtabula High School and owned and operated Daivd’s Styling Salon for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Mt. Carmel Church. He was a very talented seamster, enjoyed sewing and was a very giving person.

A few years after Janet’s father died, her mother married Roland Thurston, whom raised Janet and loved her as his own. She attended Ashtabula High School and Ashtabula School of Business. She was affiliated with the Eastside Presbyterian Church. She worked as a crossing guard, was a supervisor at Hill’s Department Store and retired from Walmart.

Damian is survived by many cousins. His parents preceded him in death.

Janet is survived by an uncle, Kenneth Loomis of Ashtabula; step-brother, Barry Thurston of California; and many cousins. Her parents preceded her in death.

Private Services will be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Shane Nanney, of Eastside Presbyterian Church, officiating. Entombment will follow the services. No calling hours will be observed.
