Dalton V. Huston

ALBION, Pa. — Dalton V. Huston, 76, of State Line Road, Albion, Pa., died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, of a probable coronary.

He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Albion, Pa., at his present home, to Carl and Gladys (Rettan) Huston. Mr. Huston was a graduate of the former Albion High School and was a lifelong area resident.

He had been employed as a welder at Linde Air of Union Carbide, Premix, and had worked with his brother, Roy Huston in his construction business. He enjoyed farming the family homestead and was presently driving school bus for the Northwestern School District.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran who had served in Germany during the Korean War.

A member of South Ridge Baptist Church in Conneaut, Ohio, he served as a deacon, a school board member, a youth instructor, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served as soloist. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0567 in Albion. He especially enjoyed his family, woodworking, puttering on the farm, and being outdoors.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah and husband Pastor Barry Gordon of Fitzgerald, Ga.; two sons, Dale and wife Sarah Huston of Monroe Twp., Ohio and Pastor David and wife Beth Ann Huston of Duncansville, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Cole of Conneaut, Ohio, and Dorothy (Chuck) Herrick of Cambridge Springs, Pa.; two brothers, Roy (Alice) Huston of Conneaut Twp., Pa., and Clyde (Betty) Huston of Ashtabula, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley on July 28, 1983; his second wife, Hilda on November 30, 2008; and a nephew Phil Huston.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13th, at the South Ridge Baptist Church, 924 Center Road, Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Dr. Roger P. Hogle officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
