GENEVA — Francis C. Eckenrode, age 86, a resident of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Monday March 4, 2013.
Born Jan. 31, 1927, in Johnstown, Pa., he was a son of the late Colletta R. (Bost) and Carl J. Eckenrode. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during WWII. He married Dorothy Stublarec on Nov. 4, 1972, in Johnstown, Pa.
Retired, he was a machinist at TRW.
Francis was a parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church and also served as an usher. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and a 2-term Grand Knight for the 3rd degree of the Geneva-Madison Council 5286. Francis currently was a Council Trustee and coordinated many charitable events through the Knights of Columbus.
He loved spending holidays decorating the house with his family and could fix anything that needed attention. He enjoyed doing word puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Eckenrode of Geneva; sisters, Dorothy Conley of Geneva and Sharon Poje of Port Charlotte, Fla.; niece, Dorothy Dolan; nephew, Carl (Joni) Ellsworth; nieces and nephews, Donald (Marilee) Ellsworth, Becky (Butch) Smock, Tommy (Lori) Ellsworth, Diane (Jeff) Carpenter, Colletta (Joe) Wicker, Frank (Barbara) Ellsworth, Sue (Jon) Rhodes, Dawn (Jammie) Eckenrode and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Eckenrode.
Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m., TODAY, Thursday, March 7th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, March 8th, at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva. Final resting place will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.
